The Israeli occupation forces anticipate the month of Ramadan by placing restrictions on the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque and placing checkpoints near the Lions' Gate, as a prelude to restricting worshipers' access to the Blessed Al-Aqsa and increasing restrictions and restrictions on them during the holy month for Muslims.
These measures reflect the reality of the changes that the occupation authorities are planning during Ramadan in Jerusalem, in contrast to what they announced about their withdrawal from imposing restrictions on the entry of worshipers from the occupied interior and Jerusalem to Al-Aqsa Mosque for fear of escalation in Jerusalem and inside.
The occupation forces had finished erecting a spy tower above the Al-Tanaksiya school, overlooking Al-Aqsa Mosque directly from its western wall.
During the past few days, activists monitored continuous work on top of the occupied school, and the erection of barriers below it, opposite the western corridor next to Bab al-Silsilah, on February 11.
The spy tower is filled with surveillance cameras and advanced monitoring and eavesdropping devices, which are approximately the same height as the Bab al-Silsilah minaret, amid fears that the western corridor’s speakers will be disabled during the month of Ramadan.
At the same time, occupation intelligence officers have been busy for weeks threatening young Jerusalemites, intimidating them from secluding themselves in Al-Aqsa Mosque and rebuilding it during the month of Ramadan, and confronting the invading settlers.
