The Batn al-Hawa neighborhood residents’ committee said that the Central Occupation Court refused to freeze the decisions to evacuate homes in the neighborhood located in the town of Silwan, in a new danger that will affect 87 families in the area.
The committee stressed the seriousness of the occupation court’s refusal to freeze the eviction decision, and its decision to evacuate the building belonging to the Shehadeh family, which consists of five families and where more than 35 Jerusalemites live.
The committee pointed out the seriousness of this decision because it will apply to all families in the area, meaning 87 families and more than 700 people.
The committee pointed out that a group of diplomats from the American Embassy and the embassy’s charge d’affaires will visit and tour the Al-Bustan area and then to Batn al-Hawa in a special way to learn about the recent developments and the course of affairs regarding the injustice taking place in the courts.
The committee called on the people of the neighborhood to be present during the visit date, which is Tuesday 12/7/2023, to convey to them the attacks taking place, and for the presence to be effective so that they can be aware of what is happening and stand up and respond in all ways and means to prevent the Supreme Court from confirming this unjust decision.
