Today, Saturday, the Israeli occupation authorities forced a Palestinian citizen to demolish his home “self” in the town of Silwan, south of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the city of Jerusalem.

Local sources in Jerusalem said that citizen Muhammad Al-Awar demolished his house “himself” in order to avoid paying heavy fines if the occupation forces demolished it with their machinery.

The occupation threatened the “one-eyed” citizen with arrest if he did not carry out the demolition before February 15, “which forced him and his family to move and rent another house.”

The occupation notified citizen Muhammad Al-Awar of the demolition of his house, noting that he and his family have been living there since 2015. He went to several “legal” authorities and paid huge sums of money (fines) to prevent the demolition order from being implemented, to no avail.

Since the beginning of 2023, the occupation authorities have demolished 43 Palestinian facilities in the West Bank and the city of Jerusalem, according to a report issued by the Palestinian Information Center “Ma’ti”. The report monitored the demolition of 10 homes in Jerusalem, 10 others in Jericho, and 9 in Hebron.
