Muhammad al-Bakri, a young man from Jerusalem, is a fan of the city and its neighborhoods. He is the champion athlete in the sport of parkour. He is from the town of Beit Hanina and is 28 years old.
But Muhammad’s story is not like the rest of the stories of those his age. Al-Bakri began an early journey in the occupation prisons. The occupation forces arrested him when he was 19 years old, and he was sentenced to 7 years in prison. During his time in captivity, he obtained a high school diploma. He began memorizing the Holy Qur’an with a chain of transmission connected to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, several months ago.
After Al-Bakri was released from captivity, he proposed to one of the girls in Jerusalem, the marriage was concluded, and he began preparing for his wedding, but the occupation forces did not give Al-Bakri more than two years outside the bars of their prisons, only to return and arrest him on 9/28/2023, and his detention was extended for a week.
Today, Thursday, 10/5/2023, was supposed to be Al-Bakri’s wedding day, but the occupation sentenced him to administrative imprisonment for 4 months, so he replaced his wedding suit with a brown prison suit, “Shabbas.”
