The Hebrew newspaper “Israel Today” revealed a settlement plan aimed at establishing a “national park” on a large area between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea, explaining that this is a preliminary plan aimed at changing the features of the area and making it a destination for settler hikers. The settlement park starts from the “Kochav Hashahar” settlement to the west, and reaches the east of the “Gush Etzion” settlement. The park will include about half of the area overlooking the Dead Sea. The political ramifications of this step are still unclear, as it is expected to meet international opposition, according to “Israel Today,” as this step would put an end to the principle of the two-state solution, which contradicts the American and European positions.

According to the newspaper, those in charge of the plan seek to overcome political problems and begin practical practices on the ground by carrying out daily incursions by settlers and other activities. The plan includes the establishment of a network of mobile restaurants, a hotel complex in the northern Dead Sea, and an information center. Although this is a preliminary plan according to the definition of those responsible for it, it is not theoretical. The strategic plan has already been completed, and those responsible for it have begun work to find implementation partners.
