The Jerusalemite MP deported to Ramallah, Ahmed Attoun, confirmed that there has been an abnormal escalation recently, through the targeting of Jerusalemite families and communities that resist the occupation and challenge its repressive measures.

Attoun explained that threatening messages had been sent to Jerusalemite families, stating that the occupation would use the most heinous means against them if their resistance continued.

He warned that what is happening in Jerusalem in terms of persecution, summonses, and arrests of Jerusalem’s youth is part of a series of continuous episodes trying to break the intensity of the rebellious Jerusalemite youth.

He added that the occupation does not want to see a Palestinian generation defending its right, rejecting the presence of the occupier, and challenging it by all possible and available means.

He pointed out that the new escalation is consistent with the upcoming occupation government, which is trying to impose new facts against our existence, our sanctities, and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Open war
MP Al-Maqdisi confirmed that the occupation government declares open war on the youth of Jerusalem and its people, and carries the stick to intimidate people and break their will and will to challenge.

He stated that the Jerusalemites gave their children and their money, and are ready to give everything they have to defend our sanctities and our Arab and Islamic identity, and they will remain so.

He said that what Jerusalemites are exposed to is part of the open war against their existence, because they are the spearhead of the advance in confronting the occupation, and their real battle is a battle of steadfastness and existence.

He added that what the occupation is committing is a provocation against Jerusalemite families, by brutally attacking their homes and property, citing what happened with his family over the course of days of storming and breaking the doors of their homes, assaulting their children, taking them to the hospital, or arresting them.

Targeting the Attoun family
Since December 19, 6 members of MP Attoun's family have been arrested by the occupation forces after storming their homes in the town of Sur Baher.

The arrests included his son Mahmoud and his cousin Qassam, who were released after three days on bail and pledged to appear in court when summoned.

As for last night, the occupation arrested his nephew Imad, the young man Issam Attoun, and his young sister’s son, Muhammad Attoun. Their detention was extended until next week, and they were transferred to investigation in cells 20, and communication with them was prevented even by the lawyer.

The family member, the boy Muhammad Imad Attoun, 18 years old, was also arrested after being summoned, while the young man, Musa Attoun, was released on bail.

Representative Atoun explained that the occupation authorities are investigating the detained young men about participating in national marches and events during the past two months.
