Several days after Samer Nuseibeh, a member of the Jerusalem Chamber of Commerce and owner of Al-Dar Mall on Salah al-Din Street, rented floors in his commercial complex to “high-tech” companies contracted with the occupation municipality, and after several discussions and rounds of attempts to dissuade Nuseibeh from his normalization steps, the national and popular forces in Jerusalem issued a statement regarding this incident.

Beit Al-Maqdis News Agency obtained an exclusive copy of the statement and is the only one to publish it on its website.

Our people in the holy city of Jerusalem:

Protectors and guardians of the homeland, and the spearhead in defending it and its sanctities, you who have rejected and continue to reject all attempts at subjugation and normalization with this usurping entity... and you have rejected all attempts to legitimize Zionist institutions, and you have endured and continue to endure for that purpose all forms of abuse and uprooting... and you were the first line of defense against the policies and crimes of the occupier... realizing the extent of the responsibility and trust.

In light of the fierce attack targeting our occupied land in general and the city of Jerusalem in particular, the occupation continues to work day and night to Judaize and Israelize what remains of us in Jerusalem on various levels...unconcerned with its daily crimes of building demolition massacres, theft and confiscation of lands and properties, the expansion of settlements, and attempts to strike all sectors of our people in the occupied capital. Despite this, Jerusalem, with its young and old, remains steadfast in its covenant and position in defense of our land, our history, the future of our children, and our firm right to our capital.

Our dear people in occupied Jerusalem…

On Monday the 17th of this month, we were surprised by the announcement of an invitation from the occupation municipality, with the participation of its extremist settler mayor and the so-called Minister of Jerusalem in the extremist government, to open (high-tech) offices in the “Dar Mall” building owned by engineer Samer Nuseibeh… In turn, out of concern for the city’s residents, and to inform the person concerned, Samer Nuseibeh, about the seriousness of this step, we sat with him and asked for an explanation about this invitation. The response at the time was that the lease contract for the sixth floor of “Dar Mall” was not signed with the occupation municipality, but rather was signed with the “We Work” company.

It was emphasized that obtaining the necessary permits from the occupying state, given their presence by force of arms in our city, does not mean giving them the legitimacy to attend and participate in the opening. However, we were surprised by the opposite of what was mentioned above. Based on the above, we emphasize the following:

The participation of a minister from the occupation government and the mayor of Jerusalem in the opening of these offices clearly means that Engineer Samer Nusseibeh is a partner in this disastrous normalization act with its political dimensions that target Jerusalem and its Arabism, and it is an explicit surrender, recognition, and legitimization of this usurping occupation.

We consider that if Engineer Samer Nusseibeh does not back down and issue a clear position prohibiting the reception of the Zionist Minister of Jerusalem and the Mayor of the occupation, then we in the city of Jerusalem, with its activities and political forces, announce our boycott of him and strip him of the national duties that he was performing in the name of the national and Islamic forces. We call on our people in the city of Jerusalem and outside it not to deal with him and to treat him like everyone who sold himself to the occupation and its Judaization and settlement projects. There is no place among us for him and for everyone who plants the arrows of his mortal ambitions in the side of our steadfastness, trading in our pain and the suffering of our people, alive or dead.

We affirm that Jerusalem and its people are loyal to the loyal... and an impregnable rock against the greedy and normalizing.

Greetings, all greetings to our people in the occupied capital, who are guarding its borders and are loyal to its soil.

Glory to the martyrs, freedom to the prisoners of freedom, and healing to the wounded.

Shame and disgrace to the occupation and its agents.
