The Palestinian National Committee for the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) condemned the opening of offices for Hitech, a company contracted with the occupation municipality, in the “Al-Dar Mall” building located on Salah al-Din Street in the occupied city of Jerusalem, in the presence of the mayor of the occupation and the so-called “Minister of Jerusalem” in the far-right government.
In a statement, BDS confirmed its support for the position of the national and popular forces in the city of Jerusalem, which demanded that the Chamber of Commerce, represented by its president, dismiss Chamber of Commerce member Samer Nusseibeh - who is the owner of this commercial building - from his position if he does not back down.
BDS said in its statement: “Engineer Nusseibeh has proven his involvement in this normalization act after the opening that surprised our people in Jerusalem, especially after we contacted him and explained the dangers of this opening in feeding the settlement project and “Judaizing” Jerusalem through it.”
She added: “The participation of representatives of the occupation authorities in an opening ceremony inside a Palestinian building, in the middle of a street considered the main artery in the occupied city of Jerusalem, raises many questions about the nature of the lease/sale contracts concluded inside this building and their service to the Israeli colonial project in Jerusalem.”
BDs renewed its call to the Palestinian people of all stripes to boycott all institutions and facilities affiliated with the Israeli enemy and to boycott the commercial interests of anyone who dares to normalize relations with the occupation.
