Today, Wednesday, the vicinity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque witnessed a dangerous escalation by settler groups that continue their attacks on Islamic and Christian sanctities in the occupied city.

Jerusalemite sources reported that citizens found a donkey's head hanging by a settler near one of the fences of the Bab al-Rahma Islamic cemetery, adjacent to the eastern wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to specialists in “Israeli” affairs, hanging the donkey’s head in Jewish belief is related to the fact that every “donkey’s firstborn” must be ransomed with a ewe to get rid of the impurity of the donkey. If the ransom is not completed, the donkey’s head must be cut off and the “impurity” thrown away in a faraway place. The significance of placing the donkey’s head lies in The surrounding area of the Islamic cemetery as a place for dumping impurities.

The Islamic Endowments Council in Jerusalem denounced the attack on the Bab al-Rahma Islamic Cemetery and warned of “the consequences of these heinous actions that reflect the depth of hatred among these extremists.”

The Bab al-Rahma Islamic cemetery is one of the most important and oldest cemeteries in Jerusalem and contains the remains of many companions, the most prominent of whom are Shaddad ibn Aws and Ubadah ibn al-Samit, may God be pleased with them both.

The Israeli occupation is targeting the Bab al-Rahma Cemetery with many settlement plans, the most prominent of which is the Judaizing “National Parks” plan, which targets the areas surrounding the Old City and the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
