Two officers in the occupation internal security service, “Shin Bet,” were injured in a shooting operation carried out by a Palestinian, as part of a controlled ambush, on Tuesday evening, near the “Gush Etzion” settlement bloc, north of the city of Hebron, in the south of the occupied West Bank.

Hebrew media reported that a Palestinian lured Shin Bet members to a wooded area near the Etzion settlement, south of Bethlehem, and opened fire on them from zero range during the encounter before he was assassinated.

Palestinian sources later announced the identity of the perpetrator of the operation, namely the martyr Ziad Omran, from the town of Al-Hashimiyeh in Jenin. He resides in Hebron and is 30 years old.
