Today, tens of thousands performed Friday prayers in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the restrictions and strict measures imposed by the occupation on access to Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City.

The Department of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in Jerusalem said that about 35,000 worshipers performed Friday prayers inside the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The occupation imposed strict measures to limit the access of worshipers to Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Beit Al-Maqdis News correspondent reported that the occupation forces deployed in the streets of Jerusalem and the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and were stationed at its gates.

He added that the occupation soldiers stopped a number of those heading to pray, and checked their personal IDs. The soldiers also assaulted a number of young men by beating and pushing them at Lions Gate, pointing out the deployment of special occupation forces in the courtyards of the mosque during the Friday sermon and prayer.
