The Islamic Waqf Council in Jerusalem condemned the decision of the occupation authorities to prevent Sheikh Akram Sabri, a member of the Waqf Council and the preacher of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque for a period of 6 months.

The Council affirmed in a statement today, received by Beit Al-Maqdis News, its firm position based on the right of Muslims alone to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque with its area of 144 dunams, noting that no one has the right to deprive any Muslim from reaching the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, praying in it, and performing his religious and legal duty.

The statement stressed that the occupation's measures against members of the Jerusalem Waqf Council, including Sheikh Akram Sabri, will not deter the council from carrying out its duties in defending and protecting the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque as a purely Islamic mosque for Muslims alone.
