The Special Release Committee, emanating from the occupation courts, issued its decision to classify the file of Jerusalemite prisoner Ahmed Manasrah under the Terrorism Law.
According to a statement issued by the defense team of the prisoner “Manasra”, a copy of which was received by the Beit Al-Maqdis Agency, the “Special Committee” decided that the case of the prisoner Manasra is a “terrorist act”, according to the definition of the Israeli “anti-terrorism” law.
In its statement, the defense team described the decision as wrong from a legal and constitutional standpoint, considering it a clear violation of the legal and constitutional foundations of the local and international legal system, especially the legal system related to children/minors.
“Manasra” faces difficult and dangerous health and psychological conditions in solitary confinement in “Eshel” prison in Beersheba.
The prisoner Al-Maqdisi was arrested on the pretext of carrying out an operation in the “Pisgat Zeev” settlement in 2015 with his cousin, the martyr Hassan Manasra, and he was sentenced to 12 years in prison at that time, which was later commuted to nine and a half years in 2017.
The prisoner Manasra is a resident of the town of Beit Hanina, north of occupied Jerusalem. When he was arrested, he was a student at the New Generation School in Jerusalem, and he was 13 years old at the time.
