The occupation forces continue to close the towns of Anata and Shuafat Camp, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, for the second day in a row, after the shooting that occurred at the Shuafat Camp checkpoint last Saturday evening.
The Israeli security services continue to pursue the young man, Uday Tamimi, accusing him of carrying out a shooting attack at the Shuafat refugee camp checkpoint on Saturday evening. The young man opened fire on the occupation soldiers from zero range, which led to the death of an Israeli male and female soldier at the camp checkpoint.
There are ongoing confrontations between Palestinian youth and the occupation forces in the towns of Anata and Shuafat Camp, while the occupation imposed a closure on the two towns and prevents entry and exit to them except by order of the occupation forces.
The Israeli Army Chief of Staff said “Aviv KochaviAt the site of the operation yesterday, he said, “We will have to study this incident and draw lessons in order to prevent other incidents of this kind.” This is our responsibility, and we will implement this in a very thorough manner.”
In both towns, the occupation forces fired tear gas canisters and sound bombs at the Palestinians who rejected the ongoing siege on them, and thus prevented the people from moving around. This is a policy of collective punishment followed by the occupation against the people of these two areas in addition to the Al-Salam suburb, where approximately 150,000 people live.
