Today, Monday, November 14, 2022, President of Al-Quds University, Imad Abu Kishk, received the French Consul General in Jerusalem, René Troccaz, to discuss ways of joint cooperation at the academic and research levels, in the presence of the university’s vice presidents.
Abu Kishk gave an introduction to the university, its academic programs and specializations, and its future plans to develop its programs. He explained in his speech the university’s centers in Jerusalem that care for and provide services to the people of the city, based on its societal responsibility towards them. He also touched on the university’s health center, which is distinguished by its researchers, students, and modern programs.
He stressed the university's efforts to develop its relations with various international institutions operating in Jerusalem and Palestine, as this communication and cooperation achieves and enhances international relations and serves Palestinian society in general and Jerusalemites in particular.
He pointed out the importance of strengthening research and academic relations with French universities and research centers, extending his thanks for their continuous support for the university academically and in research.
For his part, the French Consul General expressed his admiration for the academic and community services provided by the university in Jerusalem, whether for the youth sector or for society more broadly, with regard to matters that help and support it in preserving its identity and presence in the Holy City, stressing his interest in deepening research and academic cooperation with French universities and centers and Al-Quds University.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the French delegation met with graduates of French universities and beneficiaries of the Al-Maqdisi Scholarship. They provided an introduction to the French government’s scholarships for master’s and doctoral degrees. Details were also presented about studying, conducting research, and scholarships for academic staff members in France.
The delegation toured the public health laboratories and the legal clinic, and learned about the university’s colleges.
