سلوان - وادي قدوم

Jerusalemite calls were launched to support 11 Jerusalemite families in the building of the Wadi Qaddum neighborhood in the town of Silwan, which is threatened with demolition, and to perform Friday prayers tomorrow in front of the building.

Calls were directed to the free people of Jerusalem to support the families and stand with them against the occupation’s decision to demolish the building, and to perform Friday prayers tomorrow, December 9, in front of the building in Wadi Qaddum in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

She said: “O free sons of Jerusalem, let us resolve to fulfill the call of duty, and stand firmly against the policy of demolishing homes in your city, and defend any home threatened by demolition.”

The Israeli occupation authorities in Jerusalem were notified of the demolition of a residential building containing 11 apartments in the Wadi Qaddum neighborhood in the town of Silwan, south of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The building's residents are now threatened with displacement, in a tragedy that will not stop for moments or years. They will live their entire lives suffering from displacement and the absence of shelter and the dreams they had in their homes.

About 75 people have lived in the threatened building for about eight years. They have exhausted all means to try to prevent the demolition order, in a long struggle with the occupation courts.

According to those affected, the occupation authorities imposed impossible conditions on them in order to obtain building permits for the building, including providing land in the vicinity of the building.

Jerusalemites are forced to build east of occupied Jerusalem, without obtaining building permits, in light of the restrictions, strict procedures, and impossible conditions imposed by the occupation municipality in this regard.
