The Islamic Christian Committee for the Support of Jerusalem and Holy Sites warned of the dangers of the occupation's policy of expelling Jerusalemites from their city, especially prisoners.
She stressed that the resumption of the deportation policy against Jerusalemites constitutes a dangerous escalation of the approach of fascism, ethnic cleansing, and forced displacement.
She said it was a violation of international law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits an occupying power from deporting citizens under occupation to another territory, and considers any such action a war crime.
The Commission added that the racist decision recalls the policy of deportation practiced by the occupation against Palestinian prisoners in the 1980s, and that it is now attempting to re-establish this fascist approach.
She warned against the occupation's return to practicing this policy again and the dangers it poses to the existence of Jerusalemites.
The Commission noted that the occupation authorities' continued persistence in their practices and disregard for all international laws and resolutions is a result of the international community's leniency, failure to hold them accountable for their crimes, and enabling them to escape punishment.
The Commission called on human rights organizations to raise their voices to condemn these crimes and take effective measures to protect the Palestinian people under occupation.
The Commission condemned the occupation authorities' decision to deport Jerusalemite prisoner and lawyer Salah Hamouri to France.
The so-called Legal Advisor and Minister of Justice in the occupation government had previously approved the decision to revoke the Jerusalemite identity card from prisoner Hamouri.
In September 2020, Hamouri received an order to report to an Israeli police station in Jerusalem to receive a letter from the Interior Minister informing him of his intention to revoke his permanent residency in Jerusalem.
Al-Hamouri, an activist defending the Palestinian cause, spent more than eight years in Israeli prisons and was banned from travel and entering the West Bank.
In 2016, the occupation authorities deported his wife from Palestine, citing her support for boycott campaigns against the entity.
Al-Hamouri had previously stated that the occupation authorities, through these and other decisions, seek to empty Jerusalem of its residents in order to impose complete control over the city, as part of the expansionist settlement plan of successive Israeli governments.
The occupation authorities continue to target the liberated holy prisoners through a series of punitive measures aimed at restricting them and undermining their will.
It targets Jerusalemites, particularly those who defend the holy site, through arrests, deportations, and fines, with the aim of displacing Jerusalemites from Al-Aqsa Mosque and leaving it an easy target for settler ambitions.
