Minister of National Economy Khaled Osaily announced today, Wednesday, that elections for the Board of Directors of the Jerusalem Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023.
Assili explained, in a press statement, that the nomination period will be opened starting at nine o'clock in the morning of tomorrow, Thursday, December 21, 2022, for a period of seven days, until Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
According to the Minister’s decision, the current Board of Directors of the Chamber shall carry out its activities, limited to managing the Chamber’s affairs until the end of the last day before the date of the elections.
Under the resolution, the Council is prohibited from disposing of movable and immovable assets through sale, purchase, exchange, and concluding contracts related to construction, consulting, or services without the written approval of the Minister of National Economy.
According to the decision, the current Board of Directors of the Chamber is prohibited from taking any action that would bring about any changes in the structure of the Chamber, or appointing or contracting with consultants, or dispensing with employees, or amending the rank or grade of any of the employees.
The Central Committee for the Management of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Elections issued the administrative arrangements and chronology of the electoral process in local newspapers. The Chairman and members of the Chamber Council are legally, and in his personal capacity, responsible for any violation of the provisions of the law and the system of this decision.
