The head of the Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Committee in the Palestinian Legislative Council, MP Ahmed Abu Halabiya, said that the excavations and tunnels carried out by the Israeli occupation under Al-Aqsa Mosque “have now constituted a real danger to its future.”

Abu Halabiya confirmed, in a written statement, that he had arrived Jerusalem News Agency A copy of it states that “stones fell from the southern wall in the Al-Aqsa Mosque prayer hall; As a result of cracks caused by the occupation’s excavations under the area of the Umayyad palaces, which extend to about 800 meters between Ain Silwan and the Buraq Wall.”

These ongoing violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the collapses occurring in its courtyards due to the occupation’s ongoing excavations, represent a real danger, in light of the occupation’s failure to allow any renovations, according to Abu Halabiya.

Abu Halabiya stressed to pursue the occupation legally, file cases against it in international courts, criminalize it for its aggression against Al-Aqsa Mosque, and continue digging tunnels that truly threaten Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He explained that the excavations caused collapses under the homes of citizens in the town of Silwan and in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, pointing out that the occupation had carried out excavations, earlier, that extended from the bottom of the Western Wall towards the north, all the way to the bottom of the Mughrabi Gate and the Buraq Wall.

Abu Halabiya called on the Kingdom of Jordan to take effective measures based on Jordanian custodianship of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and called on international organizations and institutions to work to stop the attacks and excavations in Al-Aqsa.
