The Israeli occupation forces arrested Jerusalemite Ahmed Alyan from his land in the town of Sur Baher, south of occupied Jerusalem.
Eyewitnesses told Safa Agency that the occupation forces arrested Ahmed Alyan after he and the occupation municipality employees prevented them from entering his land without a decision from the occupation court.
Witnesses explained that Ahmed Alyan’s land is located in the center of the “Givat Hamatos” settlement in the town of Beit Safafa, and its original area, before part of it was confiscated, was 24 dunams, according to activist Abdel Karim Lafi.
Lafi pointed out that the “Givat Hamatos” settlement is built on the lands of Beit Safafa and the Italian Church, east of the town of Beit Safafa, along Jerusalem-Hebron Street. Its area is hundreds of dunams, and there are hundreds of settlement units in it.
In this context, the occupation court sentenced prisoner Omar Al-Rishq to 12 months in prison and a fine of 1,000 shekels.
Today, the occupation court also extended the detention of the young men, Amin Muhammad Al-Abbasi, Mustafa Muhammad Al-Abbasi, and Khalil Al-Awar from the town of Silwan until 1/24/2023, and the young Jerusalemite Abdullah Obaid from the village of Al-Issawiya until next Thursday.
The occupation authorities are scheduled to release Jerusalemite prisoner Saleh Al-Zagha today, after a year of detention.
