The Supreme Fatwa Council in Palestine warned of the escalating violations of the Israeli occupation and extremist settlers in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian territories.
The Council said in a statement, following its session held on Thursday, headed by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, Chairman of the Supreme Fatwa Council, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, that the violations committed by the occupation authorities against Al-Aqsa Mosque led to its conversion into a military barracks.
He explained that the occupation went beyond this with unprecedented provocative actions that included Talmudic prayers, prostrations, chants, singing, and dancing inside the courtyards of Al-Aqsa, in addition to raising Israeli flags.
The Council condemned the occupation authorities’ objection to the entry of the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan into Al-Aqsa Mosque, describing this as provocation, tyranny, and dangerous tampering with the existing situation in the mosque.
He reaffirmed that Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its area of 144 dunums, and its landmarks and facilities above and below the ground, is an exclusive right for Muslims alone, all over the world, that does not accept division or partnership, despite attempts to change the religious, historical and legal status existing in the mosque.
The Council condemned the fierce settlement attack carried out by the occupation authorities against all Palestinian territories.
He stressed that this action falls within the framework of piracy and settlement, and comes in implementation of the occupation's plan to eliminate the Palestinian presence in the region.
On another level; The Council congratulated the detainees, Maher and Karim Younis, on their freedom from the occupation prisons. It also congratulated all of our people on their freedom, calling on the world to stop the double standards and the necessity of ending the last occupation in the world.
