Today, Saturday, January 17, 2023, the Israeli occupation authorities forced the Qanbar family from Jerusalem into the Deir al-Sunna neighborhood, in the town of Jabal al-Mukaber, south of Jerusalem. 

The occupation authorities claimed that the house had been built “without a permit” to issue a demolition decision, while Hussein Qanbar, the owner of the house, explained that his house had been built since 2016, and during the past years he was able to freeze the demolition decision and pay the financial fines imposed on him by the occupation municipality, until it issued a demolition decision. The final demolition decision was made this month. 

It is worth noting that during the year 2022, the occupation demolished 1,058 different facilities in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, under the pretext of “lack of a license.”
