The Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine condemned, on Thursday, the attack by a settler in the occupied capital on the Church of the Prison of Christ, affiliated with the Custody of the Holy Land, and the smashing and destruction of some of its contents, and the attempt to burn it.

The head of the committee, Ramzi Khoury, said in a statement that the escalation of attacks and raids on places of worship and Islamic and Christian sanctities is the inevitable result of the incitement sponsored by the racist occupation government against everything that is not Jewish.

He added that these actions cannot be classified as individual acts, but rather as a systematic racist mobilization policy led by the leaders of Israeli fascism to empty Jerusalem of its original inhabitants and Judaize it.

Khoury stressed that the will of the Palestinian people is steadfast in the face of all challenges, and our people will not abandon our occupied capital with its Islamic and Christian sanctities, which will not submit to the threats of Israel, its racist governments and its settlers.

He called on the world's churches to take immediate and urgent action and pressure their governments to provide international protection and punish "Israel" for all violations of international laws that criminalize attacks on places of worship and holy sites.

This is the fourth attack on Christian places of worship by Jewish extremists since the beginning of this year. The Episcopal Church cemetery was attacked and crosses were broken, and the Armenian Patriarchate was previously subjected to an attempt to storm it, and racist phrases were written on its walls.
