Today, Wednesday, the Islamic Christian Organization for the Support of Jerusalem and the Holy Sanctities condemned the new settlement plans approved by the Israeli government to build 9,409 settlement units and legalize 9 other settlement outposts.

The authority said in a statement reached by the Jerusalem News Agency, “This settlement attack constitutes a provocation and a dangerous escalation of the situation on the ground,” holding the Israeli government responsible for all the repercussions that will result from these extreme decisions.

She stressed that the escalation of the settlement attack facing the city of Jerusalem and the rest of the Palestinian territories constitutes a disdain for the international community and a challenge to the international resolutions issued by the Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly, which emphasized the illegality of settlements and the dangers they pose to the two-state solution.

The Commission held the United States of America and European countries responsible for this Israeli expansion in settlement policy, land confiscation, and home demolition.

She added that the positions of condemnation and expressions of concern on the part of the United States are no longer sufficient and cannot constitute a deterrent to the Israeli policy of arrogance.

The Commission called on the international community to take serious measures to stop this aggression and to transform positions of condemnation and rejection of settlement into serious actions that force the occupation to stop its aggression against the Palestinian people, their land and their sanctities.
