Yesterday evening, Tuesday evening, groups of young Jerusalemites raised Palestinian flags in various streets of occupied Jerusalem in response to the demands of the extremist occupation security minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, to prevent the raising of the Palestinian flag.

The young men hung dozens of flags in the city's streets and alleys and on electricity poles and mosque minarets in Jerusalem neighborhoods and towns.

Activists launched a tweet campaign on social media with the hashtag “Raise_YourFlag,” while launching calls to raise Palestinian flags in Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948.

The occupation forces issued orders prohibiting the raising of the Palestinian flag in public places in the occupied territories and Jerusalem, after receiving direct orders from the Minister of the so-called National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir.

Ben Gvir’s decision means that the presence of any Palestinian flag in any protest in occupied Jerusalem will lead to its suppression, and if it is raised within the walls of universities, the university will be stormed.

Specialists pointed out that Ben Gvir’s decision indicates that the areas of Jerusalem and the occupied interior are facing almost daily confrontations, and that the decision is also considered an attempt to forcefully impose the occupation’s sovereignty over Jerusalem, by annexing it to the occupied interior in terms of dealing with it by the occupation authorities.
