Yesterday evening, Tuesday, crews from the occupation police and the “Nature Authority” raided the parking lot leading to the Yusufiyah Cemetery and Bab al-Asbat Road, which is owned by the families: Awis, Atallah, Hamad and al-Najjar, from the town of Silwan, as the Nature Authority is trying to control the parking lot and the land.
After the occupation police raided the place, they closed the parking lot with cement blocks, and prevented the owners of the land from reaching it, until the occupation court issues a decision next Sunday.
The land and the parking lot are considered a vital artery for the people of Jerusalem, as thousands of people pass through it daily on their way to Bab al-Asbat and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and a weekly popular market is held there.
