Tens of thousands of worshipers performed Friday prayers today in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the obstacles and restrictions imposed by the occupation forces on the military checkpoints surrounding the Old City and the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The Islamic Endowments Department reported that 50,000 worshipers were able to reach Al-Aqsa Mosque and perform Friday prayers there.

Before prayer, the occupation forces assaulted those arriving to Al-Aqsa in the Bab al-Amoud area, beating one of the young men and throwing him to the ground. They also assaulted journalist Nadine Jaafar and issued tickets to Jerusalemites in the place.

In the vicinity of Lions Gate, the occupation forces arrested young men and prevented them from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform Friday prayers. They also deployed in the courtyard of the Dome of the Rock in conjunction with the prayer.
