The head of the Supreme Islamic Authority and the preacher of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrimah Sabri, called for people to travel to Al-Aqsa Mosque to commemorate the Hijri New Year, which falls next Sunday, the seventh of July.
Sabri stressed the importance of investing in the memory of the noble Prophet’s migration to pray, stationing in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, participating in supplications and remembrance sessions, and attending lessons that deal with the story of the migration of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace.
Sabri pointed out that the past Hijri year witnessed a significant escalation in settlers’ incursions into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, their attempts to perform their rituals in its pure spaciousness, closing its doors to worshipers several times, and digging tunnels under and around it with the approval and support of the “Israeli” government and the Talmudic societies, with the aim of controlling it.
The preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque appealed to the Arab and Islamic countries to intensify their efforts and strengthen their positions to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque from the dangers facing it, to preserve religious sanctities and endowment properties in the city of Jerusalem and Palestine, to confront sectarian strife, sectarian disputes and fighting among Muslims, to confront the global campaigns that insult the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and are against the Islamic religion, and to work to highlight its teachings. Its great principles are based on moderation, justice, tolerance, and respect for members of other religions.
