Yesterday, Tuesday, the two Jerusalemite prisoners, Iyad Walid Mahlus (47 years old) and Bassem Muhammad Jaber (49 years old), entered their 22nd year in Israeli occupation prisons.
The occupation arrested Mahlous and Jaber on July 16, 2003, along with their companion Ali Fahmi Da'na, who ended his sentence in the occupation prisons last year.
The occupation authorities charged the prisoners Mahlous, Jaber, and Da'na with forming a military resistance cell in Jerusalem, and issued varying sentences ranging from 23 years to life imprisonment.
Prisoner Iyad Mahlus is serving a life sentence. He is from the town of Silwan, married and the father of four children, while prisoner Bassem Jaber is serving a 25-year prison sentence, married and the father of one daughter.
