Yesterday, Monday, the Israeli Knesset approved a decision to ban the activities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in Jerusalem and the West Bank.
This decision, which was met with international, Arab and Islamic rejection, comes after a series of steps that the occupation began to implement against UNRWA in Jerusalem, the latest of which was the seizure of the lands of the agency’s headquarters in occupied Jerusalem, to establish housing projects for settlers.
More than 110,000 Jerusalemite refugees benefit from the services of UNRWA, which runs 10 schools in the Shuafat and Qalandia camps, and they will be directly affected by the occupation’s decision.
