Tens of thousands performed Friday prayers in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the strict military measures imposed by the occupation authorities on the gates and entrances of the Old City in occupied Jerusalem.
According to a brief statement from the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem, about 50,000 worshipers performed Friday prayers in Al-Aqsa, from the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, and within the territories of the year 1948, on a “mourabitun despite the deportation” Friday.
The occupation forces deployed in the streets of the city and the vicinity of Al-Aqsa, and were stationed at its gates. They stopped the worshipers, checked their ID cards, and prevented dozens from entering the mosque.
Jerusalemite and youth calls were launched to mobilize and participate in the dawn and Friday prayers in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in support of those who were excluded from it.
The calls emphasized the necessity of widespread participation in performing the dawn prayer in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and urged the people of Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the territories of 1948 to travel to it and intensify their presence there.
According to the Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Silwan, the occupation authorities have escalated the decisions to deport Jerusalemites from Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City during the past two years, and issued 107 deportation decisions last May, distributed between the Old City, Al-Aqsa, and the occupied city of Jerusalem.
