The head of Al-Aqsa Academy for Science and Heritage and the official in charge of religious education in Jerusalem, Najeh Bakirat, confirmed that the Israeli occupation is waging a systematic war against Palestinian education in the occupied city of Jerusalem, and has developed a plan to steal schools and take control of them.

Bakirat explained that the occupation is working to generalize an educational system that is hostile to Palestinian thought and identity, and targets all educational stages for students, starting from the first grade of primary school to the twelfth grade.

He stated that the “Bagrut” system, which is being spread by the occupation, is based on teaching students that the “Israeli state” is the owner of the identity and the land, and is based on intellectual Judaization and stripping the personality of values and morals.

He pointed out that the Israeli occupation has developed a plan to end Palestinian education in Jerusalem by 2030, stressing that the people of Jerusalem will resist this Israeli curriculum and will never accept it.
