The “Israeli” Supreme Court in occupied Jerusalem approved the allocation of a large portion of the lands of the town of Silwan, south of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, to the “Elad” settlement association, and authorized it to manage the site full of Arab and Islamic antiquities, to continue excavations and tunnels, at the expense of the lands and homes of Jerusalemites in the town.

The occupation court rejected a petition against the manner in which the site and the settlement plans in Silwan are being operated, which affect the lives and rights of Palestinians, after a series of collapses and cracks that occurred on the main street, and affected dozens of homes, as a result of the continuous excavations.

Settlement organizations, including Elad and Ateret Cohanim, and political representatives from the extreme right, invested great efforts to pump public resources and millions of shekels into developing heritage sites that support the Talmudic settlement narrative, especially in the vicinity of the Old City and the town of Silwan.

“Elad” carries out various settlement activities, seeking to Judaize Silwan, its place, its history, and its people. It robs the land and displaces the Jerusalemites, after stealing their properties through devious methods accompanied by fraud, fraud, and deception. excavations Below and around the town, searching for what is called “the remains of the City of David.”

It controls the management of at least three archaeological areas, or what the occupation calls “national parks,” which are the antiquities area in the so-called “City of David,” the Umayyad Palaces area, and the “Givati Parking Lot,” all of which are located a few meters south of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
