Jerusalem affairs researcher Fakhri Abu Diab revealed a huge settlement plan targeting the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood in the center of Jerusalem.

Abu Diab explained that the occupation is seeking to establish “biblical gardens” in the part of Wadi al-Joz neighborhood closest to Al-Aqsa Mosque, as the occupation municipality has delivered notices to demolish 17 homes in the area.

Abu Diab added in a special interview with Beit Al-Maqdis News Network that carrying out the demolition and evacuation operations in Wadi Al-Joz will lead to the displacement of about 70 Jerusalemites.

Abu Diab explained that the occupation's plans to Judaize the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood and settle in it do not stop at the southern areas of the neighborhood, as the occupation seeks to target the only industrial area that serves the people of Jerusalem and is located north of the neighborhood.

Abu Diab confirmed to “Beit Al-Maqdis” that the occupation seeks to demolish the industrial zone in Wadi Al-Joz and expel the owners of professions and industries from it in order to establish a dangerous and huge settlement plan that aims to create an Israeli zone for modern industries. The plan bears the name “Silicon Valley.” This plan is integrated with other occupation plans that aim to displace the people of Jerusalem and cut off their livelihoods.

The guest of “Beit Al-Maqdis” pointed out that the Judaization and settlement plans in the Wadi Al-Joz neighborhood aim to connect the French Hill and Hebrew University settlements to the Old City and West Jerusalem without the presence of a barrier from the Arab neighborhoods of Jerusalem.
