With tears and a burning heart, Umm Hamza said goodbye to her son, in the pre-dawn hours, on Friday, August 18, 2023, after a journey with illness, pain, and serious repercussions that struck his thin body over the course of two years, as a result of a malicious bullet from the occupation forces in the last ten days of Ramadan of the year. 2021. 

“My brother, Ahmed Abu Sneineh, the heroic martyr... he raised our heads, and we brought him down by stealing from Ain Karem, where we were against them.” These were the words of the brother of the martyr Abu Sneineh, after he and a group of young men from Jerusalem were able to bring him to Al-Maqasid Hospital in the town of Al-Tur, for his body to be funeral. From there to the Lions' Gate cemetery after the funeral prayer was performed over him in the vicinity of Lions' Gate, one of the gates of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. 

The martyr, Hamza Abu Sneina, is a 30-year-old Jerusalemite citizen, a resident of the town of Al-Issawiya, north of occupied Jerusalem, and the father of two daughters. 

Abu Sneineh was injured by Zionist occupation bullets during confrontations between Palestinians and the occupation forces during Tarawih prayers on the night of the 26th of Ramadan in the year 2021, corresponding to 5/7/2021, as the Zionist occupation forces were preparing to create the conditions for the “Flag March” aggression, which failed after 3 days of Abu Sneineh was injured, after which the “Saif al-Quds” battle erupted. 

Abu Sneineh was injured by a rubber-coated metal bullet, which caused him to lose his left eye and cause multiple fractures to the skull, causing him several complications, including his arrest for several days by the occupation forces after his release from the hospital. However, on the morning of 6/30/2023, Abu Sneineh was afflicted with... He had a strong convulsion while he was at home, and he was transferred to Hadassah Al-Issawiya Hospital, where it was discovered that he was infected with a bacteria in the brain.

As Abu Sneineh’s health condition deteriorated, Abu Sneineh was transferred to “Hadassah Ein Kerem” Hospital and remained on artificial respirators. The functions of a number of body organs were disrupted, such as: the kidneys and liver, in addition to blood clots, and he became a martyr, at dawn on Friday, August 18, 2023. . 

With the ascension of Abu Sneineh, the number of Palestinian martyrs since the beginning of this year has risen to 226 martyrs, including 10 from occupied Jerusalem. 

The greatest wish of the martyr Abu Sneina, after he lost his eye and his appearance was disfigured, was for his daughter to return to kiss him and sit in his arms without fear of him, but God’s destiny is above all else, and God’s choice through martyrdom is the best choice.
