Today, Sunday, the occupation court in Jerusalem extended the detention of 13 young Jerusalemites until next Wednesday, January 5, 2025, on charges of celebrating the freedom of the Jerusalemite prisoner Ashraf Zaghir, who was released as part of the “Flood of the Free” deal.

A reporter reported Jerusalem News Network The occupation court extended the detention of: the brothers Obada and Abdullah Munir Zaghir, who are brothers of the freed prisoner Ashraf Zaghir, and his relatives Hamza Zaghir, Adi Zaghir, Amir Zaghir, Ahmed Basem Zaghir, Othman Zaghir, Sufyan Zaghir, and Moataz Zaghir.

He added that the decision to extend the detention also included the released prisoners Majed Al-Jaba from the Old City, Mahmoud Al-Taryaki from the town of At-Tur, and the brothers Izz Al-Din and Subaih Abu Subaih from the town of Al-Ram.

It is noteworthy that the occupation forces arrested the thirteen young men after raiding their homes at the end of last January and accused them of participating in receiving the Jerusalemite prisoner, Ashraf Zaghir, who was released in the “Flood of the Free” deal.

The occupation authorities released the freed prisoner Ashraf Zaghir, after he had spent 23 years in prison out of his sentence of 6 life sentences, as part of the second batch of the Flood of the Free, which fell on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
