On Sunday, the occupation municipality forced Jerusalemite Salah Abu Farha to forcibly demolish the family home in the Ras al-Amoud neighborhood in the town of Silwan in occupied Jerusalem, to avoid paying the costs of the demolition to municipal employees.

Salah Abu Farha said in press statements that he and his brother Osama built a house for their mother 7 months ago, consisting of a second floor in order to expand, as they live with their families on the first floor.

He added, “However, the mother died five months ago, and they recently began completing the construction, in order to expand due to the narrowness of the house.”

He pointed out that the occupation municipality employees placed a notice to stop construction on the house two weeks ago, and after five days they asked the two brothers to self-demolish the house, otherwise it would be demolished by its employees and they would pay the cost of the demolition process.
