The Palestinian issue is considered one of the most complex liberation issues in the world, which the United Nations has been unable to settle despite all the efforts that have been made and are being made since the establishment of the Zionist occupation state on the Palestinian territories, and the emergence of several solutions and proposals about dividing the land between the Palestinian people who have the right and the herds of settlers coming from different lands. Land, but every time these proposals fail, and at the same time the lands controlled by the Palestinians shrink, and at the same time the area of the Zionist entity increases, until total control over all Palestinian lands was achieved, and the settlement moved from military confrontation to the principle of land for peace.
The problem of Palestine is that it is not an ordinary political issue, but rather a civilizational conflict between religions, cultures and civilisations. Perhaps countries and political regimes cannot provide anything or delay in resolving the issue, the details of which are determined by the Holy Books, and although the conflict is on earth, the solutions come from heaven. It is contradictory among nations that all claim to know the news of heaven, and that God has made the blessed land a special property for them that no one shares with it. The Torah, the Gospel, and the Holy Qur’an all refer to Bayt al-Maqdis, its surroundings, and its doctrinal importance to the people of every religious belief. Here is the problem of Palestine, as it is a blessed land and all He wants the blessing to be his portion.
The most complex problem of Palestine is the city of Jerusalem itself, as it is a threshold between heaven and earth, between the sacred and the profane. Each religion has its holy places and sanctuaries that are forbidden to followers of other religions, and even those of the same religion, who are not present there except after complying with a set of restrictions and prohibitions. Or what is known as the rite of passage and purification before entering the holy place. We find the city of Jerusalem located at the crossroads between three religions. Looking at it with one look, it is a sacred threshold for Jews, Christians and Muslims, and in it and through it believers connect with God and communicate with Him. The holy places that are located on earth are the shortest. The paths between heaven and earth, and being in it is different from being in other places, where time and place change. Everything there goes according to the arrangements of the sacred, and it is according to the initial model where God intervened and decided what is sacred? How does it manifest itself? Who are the legal owners of it? Likewise, the profane is confined, receding, and almost disappearing within the sacred place and even in its surroundings, and this is what many anthropologists interested in the religious phenomenon have pointed out, such as Roger Kayowa, Rudolf Otto, Firas Sawah, Murasal Moss, Marcia Eliade, and others. The sacred place is where time and man are sanctified and becomes Part of that place.
Through the idea of holiness that surrounds the Palestinian issue and the city of Jerusalem in particular, this issue becomes very complex and is controlled by factors that are not political, but rather ideological and cultural, and it is the most prominent feature in the conflicts after the end of the Cold War, where nations and peoples woke up to duel and compete culturally and among other forms. The conflict is to dominate the holy places and turn them into the exclusive property of one nation and one religion. This is what makes all the solutions presented to the Palestinian issue politically, which do not take into account the religious dilemma, seem absurd solutions, accepted by politicians and rejected by clerics and peoples searching for salvation. Salvation can only be achieved. In holy places, ownership is exclusive to one nation of nations, and this is what governs the Palestinian-Zionist conflict. For example, if the Jews were offered all of Palestine without Jerusalem, they would not accept, and the same thing if the Palestinians and all Muslims were offered all of Palestine without Jerusalem, they would not accept. Jerusalem is the horse’s mount and the bottom line. Its problem is that it is not divisible, but rather it is united and one and belongs to one nation, as stated in the holy books that make political solutions an attack on the Sharia, which defines what is sacred and who is most worthy of it?
Jerusalem is neither eastern nor western, but rather it is one city that belongs to one nation, which can obtain and keep it. Therefore, Muslims must think about how to recover the Holy City, which they have no right to divide or accept its division, as it is among the cities of God whose nature God has determined. And its ownership, and therefore no one has the right to give up a single inch of Jerusalem. The holy places either lose them all or keep them all, and this is what governs the conflict over the city of Jerusalem. The Jews do not accept the western part, nor do the Muslims accept the eastern part. Rather, it is merely to go along with the situation and submit. For the logic of power and for international and regional balances, while in the end Jerusalem will be one, unified, for one nation, which is the nation that God promised to establish his state on earth, according to the last connection between heaven and earth. That is, Jerusalem is for Muslims, its east, its west, its outskirts, and everything that surrounds it. Therefore, we must work on How to materialize this project just as others are working to materialize projects that have expired, but despite that, they are working on them day and night, while we, the owners of the real and certain project, still believe in absurd political arrangements.
