Today, Wednesday, the occupation authorities decided to detain the body of the martyred prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid and not to hand it over to his family.

This morning, the Minister of the Occupation Army, Benny Gantz, issued instructions “not” to hand over the body of the prisoner Abu Hamid to his family.

Abu Hamid was martyred yesterday, Tuesday, after suffering for 16 months with cancer inside the occupation prisons, in the Israeli “Assaf Harofeh” Hospital.

His health condition had seriously deteriorated last Monday in Ramla Clinic Prison, where the prison administration had refused for months to release him or provide him with the necessary treatment.

With the martyrdom of Nasser Abu Hamid, the number of martyrs of the prisoner movement has risen to 233 martyrs since 1967; 74 of whom were martyred as a result of the crime of medical negligence.

The occupation authorities have been holding the bodies of 117 Palestinians in their refrigerators since 2015, in addition to 256 bodies in the numbered cemeteries.
