The Ministry of Education held; The second meeting of the Advisory Council for Education, headed by Minister Marwan Awartani and members of the Council.

At the beginning of the meeting, Awartani stressed the importance of the council’s role in supporting the desired educational development efforts.

The Minister also pointed out the importance of forming specialized committees that follow up on issues related to educational affairs and the priorities that continue to be achieved, considering that the presence of a female student, who is the President of the Student Parliament, in the Council embodies the commitment to hearing the voice of students.

During the meeting, a number of issues were reviewed and discussed; Including education in Jerusalem, the occupation’s targeting of the Palestinian curriculum and the entire educational system, and the occupation’s increasing violations against Palestinian students, especially in Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, and all regions. Possible mechanisms to be adopted were also discussed. To activate monitoring, documentation and follow-up.

The progress achieved in the school adoption program was presented; Linking it to the context of the sovereignty of Palestinian education, and discussing ways to enhance the involvement of the community and private sectors in the program, the Council appreciated the initiatives taken by individuals and institutions to adopt schools, and agreed to form several specialized committees to follow up on adoption issues. The mechanisms for activating the education tax system were also discussed. And benefit from it.

During the meeting; Many visions were exchanged regarding many educational issues, development priorities, and guarantees of the stability of the academic year in light of the presence of educational losses. Council members were briefed on the continuous preparations being made by the Ministry to hold the international conference “Digital Transformation” early next February. It is noteworthy that this council was formed based on the system of the Advisory Council for Education and Public Instruction No. (15) of 2021, issued by the Council of Ministers’ decision on 4/26/2021.
