The Jerusalem Fund and Endowment, in partnership with Al-Quds University and Bab Al-Asbat Youth Company, launched the “Jerusalem Markets” platform, under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the “Qudsna Endowment” Foundation, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani.

This came on the sidelines of a celebration honoring the guest of Palestine, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, with the participation of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al-Quds Fund, Munib Al-Masry, the President of Al-Quds University, and the Secretary of the Fund, Imad Abu Kishek.

Abu Kishk said, in his speech: “It is a great honor for us, at Al-Quds University, the Al-Quds Fund, and the Qudsna Association, to honor today the philanthropist who loves Jerusalem and its people, who leads humanitarian work, the ambassador of Jerusalem and its university to the Arab and Islamic world, who spares no effort in diligent and sincere work.” .

He added, “We meet today at your university, Al-Quds University, which is a scientific, academic and research leader, and distinguished among universities at the local and international levels. It occupies an advanced position in the global classification of academic quality (QS), and is considered first in the Arab world in social responsibility for its pioneering role in protecting Jerusalem and enhancing the steadfastness and existence of its people.” .

He pointed to the services provided by the university in education, rights, development and culture to the people of Jerusalem, in addition to the various opportunities in training, rehabilitation and care.

In turn, Al-Masry praised the charitable and humanitarian work carried out by Sheikh Abdulaziz in Palestine and Jerusalem in particular, indicating that his efforts come as an extension of the efforts of the State of Qatar and the directives of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who spares no effort in supporting the Palestinian cause.

He noted that Sheikh Al Thani harnesses all his capabilities and experience to advance the reality of charitable and development work in the city of Jerusalem and to mobilize moral and material support.

For his part, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Thani said that the State of Qatar has been and continues to be the incubator of humanitarian initiatives around the world, adding, “We are here today to confirm that Jerusalem is the highest issue in the hearts of the entire Islamic and Arab nation.”

He stressed the support of the government and people of Qatar for Palestine, its people and its cause, pointing out that Palestine needs support in all aspects to be able to confront the Israeli occupation, which is what the Qudsna Endowment Foundation seeks to achieve with this vision.

He pointed out his endeavor to provide support to Palestinian youth to complete their educational journey and involve them in training programs to learn leadership, in addition to many Qatari youth initiatives.

For his part, the General Manager of Bab Al-Asbat Company, Adnan Al-Deek, and the Technical Director, Khalil Al-Abbasi, explained the idea of the electronic shopping platform “From Jerusalem to the World,” which was established as a result of the need to improve the economic level in Jerusalem and the Old City, spread Palestinian and religious culture to all countries of the world, and deliver Jerusalemite goods. Made by Palestinian hands for global markets.

At the end of the ceremony, the university, the Al-Quds Fund, and the Jerusalem institutions honored Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani, the Executive Director of the Humanitarian Funds, Othman Abdul Qader, the Director of the Media, Protocol and Knowledge Department, and the Assistant Director of the Office of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Muhannad Al-Shorbaji Al-Agha.

The “Jerusalem Markets Platform” was funded by the Munib and Angela Al-Masry Foundation and businessman Mounir Al-Kaluti, as part of the economic empowerment program that was implemented to confront the effects resulting from the “Corona” pandemic.

This platform is considered the first investment of the “Qudsna” Endowment Foundation with an emerging entrepreneurial company, and it comes within the organization’s strategy regarding investment in sustainable projects, so that it will be the title of the next stage.

The economic empowerment program includes several main tracks: providing good loans to merchants, providing grants to some shops, reviving the Old City markets, and encouraging commercial life there through the “Yalla Ali Al Balad” festival, in addition to the “Jerusalem Markets” platform.
