On Friday, June 16, 2023, Russia and the Zionist entity signed an agreement to open a Russian consular office in occupied Jerusalem, in a dangerous escalation in the file of international recognition of Jerusalem as the “capital” of the occupying entity.

The Russian Embassy to the Zionist entity said in a statement that the deal concerns a plot of land located west of the occupied city that was purchased by Russian parties in 1885, and its ownership was confirmed to the Russian Federal Republic on 5/18/2023 by agreement with the occupation municipality.

The plot is located on the corner of King George Street and the “Maalot” settlement in Jerusalem, near the western wall of the Old City of Jerusalem.

According to the Hebrew newspaper “Israel Today”, a diplomatic complex will be built on the targeted land, and includes the consulate building, a conference hall and diplomatic residences.

This step cannot be excluded from the context of the international trend that is consistent with the Zionist trend to pass the agenda of Judaizing Jerusalem and considering it the capital of the Zionist entity. This step may be in the context of a sermon of Zionist friendliness to support the Russians in their ongoing war in Ukraine for about a year and a half.
