On Thursday morning, 7/20/2023, Palestine woke up to joy that spread across thousands of homes after the announcement of the high school results (Tawjihi), but this joy was absent from 6 Palestinian homes, for students who rose as martyrs during this year before their families’ joy in high school was complete.
In occupied Jerusalem, and in Silwan specifically, where the southern garrison of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque is, the joy of Al-Tawjihi was absent from the Abu Ramoz family of Jerusalem.
The son of the family, the boy Wadih Abu Ramuz (16 years old), was shot dead by the Zionist occupation forces on 1/28/2023, during violent confrontations that broke out in Silwan, which answered the call of the Jenin camp at the time after it was subjected to extensive Zionist military aggression.
The occupation authorities detained the body of Abu Ramoz, from the date of his martyrdom until 5/31/2023, as the occupation authorities stipulated that his mourners be limited to 25 people only, and that they prohibited takbirs, chants, and the raising of Palestinian flags during his funeral.
Today, Abu Ramoz lies with hundreds of Jerusalemite martyrs in the Yusufiya Cemetery near the Old City of Jerusalem. He obtained a martyrdom better than the martyrdom of this world, which is martyrdom for the sake of God, and martyrdom in response to the call of the Jenin Camp and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and that is sufficient martyrdom.
