Under the title “New Talpiot,” and as reported by the left-wing Zionist Ir Amim organization, the Zionist occupation is promoting a new settlement plan, south of Jerusalem, within the five-year settlement plan approved by the occupation government.
The plan includes building 3,500 settlement units, 1,300 hotel rooms, tourist centers, synagogues, and Jewish religious institutes on the eastern slopes of the “Givat Hamatos” settlement, south of Jerusalem.
The new settlement plan aims to connect settlements south of Jerusalem with its east, in order to create a settlement belt that surrounds the targeted area.
