Since the first days of the month of Ramadan, the Israeli occupation continues to strengthen its siege and its security grip on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Thursday morning witnessed the occupation crews and forces beginning to install mobile iron cages at the King Faisal, Al-Hadid and Al-Ghawanmeh Gates (the northern wall), amid fears that this step would affect the rest of the mosque’s doors.

This step comes after the occupation imposed a security lockdown on Lions Gate and its entrances, as it set up many military checkpoints and fortifications to prevent any human gathering in that area and obstruct the worshipers’ access to the mosque.

In the same context, Ziyad Ibhais, a researcher specializing in Jerusalem affairs, commented on the occupation’s installation of iron cages at the doors of Al-Aqsa Mosque, saying: “Silencing them means surrendering to emptying the Al-Aqsa flood battle of its meaning.”
