The occupation court renewed the administrative detention order for two months against the deported former Jerusalem Minister Khaled Abu Arafa, who is being held in the Negev prison, with the approval of his release after the expiry of the period.
The occupation has renewed Abu Arafa's administrative detention several times, since his arrest on May 2, 2023, from his temporary residence in Ramallah.
According to family sources, Abu Arafa suffered during his captivity from kidney stones, high blood pressure, diabetes, and significant weight loss. The occupation soldiers also broke his glasses after the Al-Aqsa flood last October.
It is noteworthy that the former minister spent many years in the occupation prisons since 1984, and was subjected to administrative detention several times, the last of which was for 15 months in 2020.
Abu Arafa is a former freed prisoner who was arrested several times and spent years in the occupation’s prisons. The occupation also deported him from the occupied city of Jerusalem when he was released from captivity in 2014.
The occupation forces withdrew his Jerusalem identity card, along with the Jerusalem representatives in the Legislative Council for the Hamas movement, Ahmed Atoun, Muhammad Tutah, and Muhammad Abu Teir.
