The Islamic Waqf Council in Jerusalem and a number of Islamic bodies in the city called for urgent action at the international, Arab and Islamic levels to stop the occupation’s attacks and incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Islamic organizations in Jerusalem called, in a statement issued yesterday, Tuesday, on the international community to take urgent action to stop the escalation represented by the Israeli occupation’s attacks on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque during the Jewish holiday season and outside of the holidays.

The statement said: “The occupation government and its security services have enabled Jewish extremists to change the religious, historical and legal status quo at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, by allowing large numbers of them to carry out a frenzied campaign of practicing Talmudic prayers, prostrating themselves, blowing the trumpet, performing dancing, debauchery, singing, shouting, raising flags, and breaking and stealing the stones of the mosque, in a blatant and provocative challenge to all Muslims and free people of the world.”

The Islamic organizations called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to take urgent and effective measures to stop the horrific and escalating Judaization attacks.

The Islamic organizations urged the scholars of the Islamic nation and the Muslims of Palestine and the world to take urgent action, each according to his ability, to defend the blessed Al-Aqsa and to travel to pray in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque so that it remains for Muslims alone with its area of 144 dunams above and below the ground as it was since the angels built it and the noble Messenger “Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace” prayed in it, a purely Islamic mosque that does not accept division, polytheism, or partnership.

The Islamic organizations condemned the attacks of the Jewish extremists and the occupation authorities in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and stressed that they are legally, historically and religiously invalid, and that they are a desecration of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and an attack on its sanctity, which God will thwart in this world and punish them for in the hereafter.

Islamic organizations warned Muslims in general and their officials in particular that they would incur the wrath of God Almighty if they continued to remain silent and inactive in protecting the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
