Yesterday, the occupation forces stormed the home of Jerusalemite Salem Ghaith in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood in the town of Silwan, south of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and gave him until 12-10-2024 to vacate it.

Last September, the so-called Israeli Supreme Court approved the eviction of the Ghaith family from their property in Silwan in favor of the settlers, under the pretext of “ownership of the land on which the building is located.”

The family has been fighting in Israeli courts since 2015 to protect their property, which they have lived in since 1979. It has two floors and is home to 10 people.

The Ateret Cohanim Association claims that 5 dunams and 200 square meters of land in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood have belonged to Jews from Yemen since 1881. The neighborhood is home to 87 families, 600-680 people, all of whom are facing judicial decisions and notifications in the courts.
