The so-called Planning and Building Committee in the occupation municipality in Jerusalem approved 3 additional settlement plans to build residential towers south of Jerusalem, including 30 floors in the occupied Katamon neighborhood, and 3 towers in the “Gilo” settlement built on the lands of the towns of Al-Walaja and Beit Jala.
On November 25, the same committee approved a settlement project to modernize a complex built on the borders of the Katamon neighborhood, with 292 housing units, underground parking lots, and public spaces.
At the beginning of last month, he approved a settlement plan in the Katamon neighborhood and the evacuated village of Ein Karem, which includes the construction of 750 housing units, in addition to public and commercial buildings.
From the beginning of 2024 until the end of June, the occupation forces studied a total of 83 master plans for expanding or establishing new settlements, including 39 plans in settlements in Jerusalem and the West Bank and 44 plans for settlements in Jerusalem.
