This morning, Tuesday, the occupation's bulldozers and machinery demolished the tents of the residents of the unrecognized village of Al-Araqib, which is threatened with uprooting and displacement in the Negev region, south of occupied Palestine, for the 234th consecutive time.
Aziz Sayyah al-Tawri, a resident of al-Araqib village, said that the occupation authorities demolished the homes of the residents of al-Araqib for the 234th time in a row this morning, and confiscated a commercial truck that was parked near al-Araqib cemetery, and used the “traffic police” to take revenge on the citizens, as he was prevented from using his private car on the pretext that it had a malfunction.
Al-Tawri stressed that “what is happening in Al-Araqib is an arbitrary act and revenge against the villagers who are steadfast on their land and clinging to their rights.”
The occupation authorities demolished the village of Al-Araqib for the first time on July 27, 2010, under the protection of occupation forces and their affiliated units.
This is the first time in the new year 2025 that the occupation authorities have demolished the tents and modest homes that house the people of Al-Araqib.
The occupation had demolished the village 11 times in 2024, 11 times in 2023, 15 times in 2022, and 14 times in 2021, in its repeated attempts to push the villagers to frustration and despair and displace them from their lands.
